Architect Issei Suma is known for his unusual projects, but this building, which looks like five tents from the outside, attracts attention with the smoothness of its forms and design, which perfectly combines minimalism with eco-style.
The project's customers were two retired women who organized a food delivery service for pensioners. They live and work in this room, and they are accompanied by a social worker and a cook.
The building also has a spiral-shaped swimming pool.
A complex of small buildings with an area of 100 square meters, called "Jikka", is located in the mountainous area of Shizuoka Prefecture. All buildings are connected to each other by arched passages.
The houses are made of concrete, and the outside is covered with wooden panels. In the central building there is a kitchen, in the west wing there are the bedrooms of the housewives, and in the east there are guest rooms and a swimming pool.
