In India, the groom was late for the wedding and the bride married another
A wedding is a responsible business, especially when it comes to India. If the bride's family is serious, then nothing can interfere with the ceremony. Even the absence of the groom. In one of the Indian villages, the groom was late for the wedding, but it took place anyway. It's just that his fiancee was married to another man.
An unusual wedding, even by Indian standards, took place on April 22 in the village of Malkapur Pangra, Buldhana district of Maharashtra state. The ceremony in the temple was scheduled for 16.00 and a lot of relatives and just guests gathered for it. Only the groom did not appear on time. He arrived at the wedding only at 20.00, while he was indecently drunk.
Instead of trying to somehow make amends or at least apologize, the groom and his friends started an ugly fight. After looking at a potential son-in-law, the bride's father flatly refused to give his daughter in marriage. But once the guests gathered, and everything was ready for the wedding, they decided not to cancel the ceremony.
The bride's father chose a new groom from among the relatives present. The wedding took place anyway and everyone was satisfied, well, maybe with the exception of the bride. Although, as far as we know, in India, the opinion of a girl is not taken into account so often.
This story was told to the journalists of the India Today edition by the bride's mother. It's hard to say if she was shocked by what happened, because anything can happen in India. Once there was a ceremony without a bride. No, she wasn't late, she just wasn't there at all, but the groom was pleased.
