If children flew: positive photo series of a bored Rachel Gulin on maternity leave
What could be more touching than funny children's photos? Such a thought came to the mother of little Henry-Rachel Hulin, who was dying of boredom, while on maternity leave dealing only with the child and the house. Before the birth of her son, she worked as a photo editor, so she decided that she would make her own original photo project with the participation of the baby.
If children flew, mothers would not have time for boredom, which is confirmed by the photos from the series "Flying Henry".
Rachel Gulin is a photographer, writer and photo editor in one person. Her series of photos "Flying Henry" became very popular, although the author did not plan it. Everything happened absolutely by accident.
After moving from Brooklyn to Rhode Island, Rachel Gulin was bored, she recently became a mother, and had to stay at home with a small child. And she wanted to devote herself to some new interesting project.
The young mother tried very hard to understand and find out for herself what motherhood really is, which seemed to her something strange.
Rachel had the appropriate knowledge and even some experience in landscape photography, because she was an experienced photo editor who had been working with photographs for nine years. The woman wanted to find her own unique way of shooting beautiful scenes.
Rachel initially doubted that she would be able to take photos with levitation. But after the first test, she realized that she was doing well. So she and Henry went on their "soaring photographic journey" every day.
At first, Rachel Gulin took photos not far from home, but as she got new pictures well, she moved further away, using the library, barns and other places for filming.
Rachel posted photos of the flying Henry on Facebook, where her friend, who works at Time magazine, saw them. Soon these pictures appeared on the photoblog "Time", and then they began to live their own virtual life.
But Rachel didn't want Henry to become just an Internet meme, so she started looking for a way to use the popularity of these photos on the Internet for something more important. And after a while, she was approached by the publishing house "PowerHouse "with a proposal to place Henry's photos in a children's book, which is called"Flying Henry".
