Hundreds of people came to the funeral of an unnamed girl who was abandoned by her mother
When the British police found the body of a stillborn girl on the sidewalk, of course, they reacted very emotionally. Especially Inspector Jim Holmes. Having connected several print publications, he launched a campaign to find the child's mother. Holmes gave the unnamed girl the Arabic name Rayhana, which means "paradise flower".
Several newspapers helped raise money to arrange a decent funeral for little Rayhana, who otherwise might have been buried in some ditch by the side of the road.

Hundreds of people came to Raihana's funeral in Oxford.
Before burying her, she was given an official naming ceremony. A nameplate was installed over the small grave.
Unfortunately, Rayhana's mother could not be found. But Inspector Holmes promised to do it anyway, delivering a speech at the grave of the girl. "No matter how small the lead is, we will use it. We'll keep trying to find your mom. I promise you that," the policeman said in a touching speech at the funeral.
The guests left flowers, soft toys and mementos for little Raykhana.
"Having been on earth for such a short time, you have touched the hearts and minds of society and the whole country," Holmes said.
A member of the British Humanist Association led the funeral ceremony and told people about the tragic fate of the girl.
