How real bikers live

French photographer Yan Morvan has been documenting the lives of bikers and members of various gangs for many years. The result is a powerful collection of black and white images.

How real bikers live

Photographer Jan Morvan often risked his life, getting into extreme situations and communicating with dangerous people. And all this for the sake of work. Well, he can't choose "softer" topics for himself. He documented the lives of bikers from the Hells Angels gang, created a project about skinheads and even managed to photograph Guy Georges, a serial killer who eventually kidnapped him and tortured him for three weeks.

Morvan's photographs capture intense, "raw" emotions that make you feel uncomfortable. It removes the power, anger and daily life of groups of people on the very edge of the law. Black leather jackets and stern faces are the norm, and local authorities constantly maintain an aura of brute force around them. No one works for the camera, no one smiles or poses. Morvan doesn't just come, take pictures and leave. Oh no, he's been working on the same project week after week, month after month, and even year after year. Today we present to your attention a selection of his photos, telling about the life of bikers.
