Faces of drug addicts before and after: how do banned substances affect appearance

The institution for the treatment of drug addicts Better Addiction Care has published depressing mugshots of detained people who are suspected of distributing and using drugs such as cocaine and heroin. The pictures taken several years apart show a terrible difference in the appearance of the detainees — significant weight loss and multiple ulcers on the face and all over the body.

"We decided to publish mugshots of American residents in order for people to imagine what harm prohibited substances cause to the body of a drug addict. Thanks to these photos, you can see how dramatically the appearance of a person who has been using drugs for several years changes."
