This series of photos of Sophia Loren and her husband Carlo Ponti at their Villa taken by photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt, in 1964. Pictures have long been kept in the archives of Life magazine unpublished.
In 1960, Carlo and Sophie began to restore the magnificent Villa of the XVI century in Marino, 16 kilometers from Rome. American journalist Pete Hamill described the Villa thus: "Nestled among 7 hectares of lawns, neatly trimmed hedges, small waterfalls and Fig trees, the Villa includes, among other things, the stable, the aqueduct, a tennis court, a fruit garden and the pool."
