Many people like KFC wings, but not everyone is so passionate about them that they are ready to go to jail for them. Several students from China found a loophole in the restaurant chain's app and for several years ordered everything they wanted from Colonel Sanders for free. It is quite clear that the time has come to pay the bills.

{ PARAGRAPH}The first flaw in the software was discovered by a 23-year-old Shanghai student named Xu. In 2018, he accidentally noticed that by paying for an order in KFC with coupons, you can do without money. Xu spent the restaurant chain's coupons in one app and immediately refunded them through another app.

Three years of such frauds allowed Xu to order food at KFC without money, which caused the company to lose about $ 9,000 (667 thousand rubles). At the same time, the student not only showed off himself, but also treated friends, and also sold coupons to everyone via the Internet. And one day he let it slip and four more students from Shanghai University started using his method.

Xu's friends did not stand on ceremony and for a couple of years ordered food in the amount of 1400 to 7300 dollars (from 104 thousand to 545 thousand rubles) each. It is not known exactly how the KFC security service figured out the fraudsters, but after three years of "full life" all the fraudsters were arrested by the police.

The court classified the act of the five students unambiguously as a criminal way of taking possession of the goods, that is, accused the guys of theft. At the same time, the amount for which the guys "punished" KFC allowed them to interpret their crime as theft on a large scale.

Xu and four of his followers received actual prison sentences of 15 to 30 months and fines of $ 155 to $ 930 (11.5 thousand to 69 thousand rubles). It goes without saying that fans of free wings will also compensate for the cost of everything eaten in three years.
