Brave zebras against thousands of antelopes
These zebras certainly earned their chevron stripes for fighting thousands of wildebeest while crossing the Mara River in the Serengeti region, which lies between Tanzania and Kenya. A similar migration of animals to the plains occurs every year in search of new pastures.

2. Approximately 1 million 500 thousand wildebeest and 200 thousand zebras. For them, every year is an endless journey and chasing rains in the race for life.
3. The action takes place on an area of 150 thousand square kilometers among forests, hills and open plains, in the desert, which includes not only the territory of the Serengeti and Masai Mara national parks in Kenya, but also the territories adjacent to them.
4. Photographer Viktoras Dubinskas captured a breathtaking moment as a small group of zebras attempt to cross the Mara River along with more than 50,000 wildebeests.
5. Taking a series of stunning shots, the photographer decided to focus on the behavior of the brave zebras and their fight for their way across the river.
6. Many wildebeest were trampled to death, but all the zebras miraculously survived during the crossing.
7. One zebra even went underwater and stayed there for about 30 seconds, but it still managed to break free by biting one of the antelopes before escaping to safety.
8. Victoras is from Fuengirola in Spain. He says: “When I finished filming this crossing, I was speechless. I have made more than 20 trips to the wild in Africa, but I have never seen anything like it.”
9. “When one of the zebras broke out of the mud, biting all the antelopes around in a panic, it seemed like a miracle.”
10. “Shooting large herds is never easy, but this time the zebras entering the water gave us that moment to focus on,” says the photographer.
