An artist from St. Petersburg made Pepe the frog the hero of classical paintings

Categories: Culture |

Internet memes appear on T-shirts and protest posters, the cat decorates billboards, and Zhdun's figurines are disassembled for souvenirs. St. Petersburg artist Olga Vishnevskaya went even further: she took Pepe, a frog popular on the Internet, and began to paint oil paintings with him. "Michelangelo" replaces the characters from the paintings of the XV-XVII century: the Mona Lisa da Vinci, Henry the Eighth from the painting by Hans Holbein Jr. and "The Girl with the Pearl Earring" by Vermeer. Canvases are sold on the handmade goods website Etsy.
