Amazing portraits of familiar insects

Ants-borers, weevils, wasps — all these guys can meet in the backyard, on the porch, the light on the wall in the room. It was there that they were shot by photographer Daniel Kariko, Professor of photography at East Carolina University.

What at first glance seems unremarkable speck of black, brown or grey, just a bug that we, or kicked out the window, or sometimes accidentally crush, impressed Kariko ever since as he first looked through a microscope.
