A stray dog ran 40 km after an athlete during a marathon and found a new owner
In order to find a dog best friend, there is no such thing as bad timing or unfavorable circumstances. In fact, to get a dog, you just need a kind heart. And this story with a dog from China is proof of that.
In June of this year, during a 250-kilometer marathon in the Gobi Desert, a stray little dog appeared from nowhere. She managed to make friends with all the participants of the run, but one day she came to a 52-year-old athlete from Scotland, Dion Leonard, and did not leave him anymore. She chose him as her man.

I remember thinking that she wouldn't be able to run for a long time.
However, she ran the whole day, keeping up with me, covering a distance of almost 40 kilometers."
The organizers of the marathon did not allow Gobi (as the dog was called) to participate in the run anymore due to weather conditions - the air temperature reached 52 degrees, and they decided to give the dog a ride by car so as not to separate him from Leonard.
On the last day of the marathon, Leonard and Gobi crossed the finish line together.
At the moment, the Scottish athlete is determined to take the dog with him, despite the many bureaucratic and financial problems he will face when transporting the animal from China to Scotland.
