A new leg with her own hands: a woman made a prosthesis for her husband from improvised materials

Love and creativity can make a loved one's life better. Briton Steve Watson badly shattered his leg, and doctors had to amputate the lower part of the limb. His wife made him a prosthesis from improvised materials found in the barn. For the manufacture, the woman used a piece of wood and an old lunar rover shoe. Thus, her husband will not have to wait six months for the installation of a suitable artificial limb and travel in a wheelchair for six months.

57-year-old teacher Steve from Durham shattered his right leg in 2018, jumping from a 1.5-meter wall and landing unsuccessfully. He had several surgeries, but as a result, the lower part of his leg had to be amputated in January 2020.

If a person really wants something, then no circumstance can stop him. Biker Steven Robinson has learned to drive a motorcycle anew, using a wooden arm from a mannequin instead of a lost limb.
