7 banned comedies
Laughter can be not only the best medicine, as the saying goes, but sometimes it can also be a crime. Not too long ago, there was a scandal surrounding Seth Rogen's The Interview, in which American heroes travel to North Korea to destroy the president. The Sony studio was hacked and threatened, and American theaters boycotted the film. But despite this, it was released both in limited box office and on the Internet, becoming one of the company's most successful digital releases. "Titer" recalls seven more comedies that can be watched far from every country.

Again, Seth Rogen. The Kevin Smith comedy, starring Rogen, was banned from the Utah movie theater chain as too lewd and inappropriate for conservative and religious audiences. The poster was also banned, as it seemed too provocative, despite the fact that the film is a simple romantic comedy.
2. "Borat"
Kazakh TV presenter Borat (Sacha Baron Cohen) travels to the US to report on "the greatest country ever." The film, of course, was banned in Kazakhstan, and as a sign of solidarity with a friendly state in Russia, it was also not shown in cinemas.
3. "Don't mess with Zohan!"
Israeli anti-terrorist Zohan fakes his own death during the capture of a criminal in order to move to New York and work as a hairdresser there. The film was a big success in Israel and was banned in Egypt, Iran, Lebanon and other Arab countries.
4. The Simpsons Movie
Of course, The Simpsons is a rather bold cartoon and should be released in theaters with an age limit, but it would seem that there is no reason to ban it. The Burmese censors thought otherwise and banned the film because it had too many bright yellows and reds.
5. "A million ways to lose your head"
In the comedy, Seth MacFarlane plays a cowardly sheep farmer whose girlfriend leaves because he refuses to duel. Soon he meets a mysterious beauty who helps him become brave. In Malaysia, the film was not only considered unfunny, but also banned. Now they're going to ban more Family Guy and Ted.
6. "No Laden"
A Bollywood masterpiece in which the main character bears a slight resemblance to one of the most notorious terrorists. The film was banned in Pakistan in 2010, and the irony is that this is where the terrorist was hiding at that time.
7. "District number 9"
In the movie District 9, alien refugees from another planet arrive on Earth. To protect them from people, they decide to arrange a temporary camp for them in the South African region. The film was banned in Nigeria as Nigerians were depicted as cannibals and bandits in it. Nigeria also demanded an apology for the film.
