For many of us, China has always been a distant and rather unusual country. There every day you can stumble upon something strange, even in an ordinary apartment. The bathroom, for example, looks like a shower room in a hospital, you can’t walk barefoot on the floor, and the Chinese are ready to carry their favorite kitchen appliance around the world.

2. You won't be able to dine in the kitchen.
Unlike our kitchens, where people gather for breakfast, dinner, or just chat with guests, in China, this room performs only its direct function - it is a place for cooking. Therefore, the kitchen has a rather small workspace without a dining table (which is often found in the living room).
3. The floor throughout the apartment is tiled.
Although we think tiles are only suitable for bathrooms and kitchens, they are good enough for an entire apartment in China. And yes, she's cold. It is unpleasant to walk on it without slippers or socks. But in new buildings, they found an excellent solution. Radiators are built directly into the floor, not into the walls.
4. No ovens in the kitchen.
In a Chinese apartment, you are unlikely to find a stove. But you will definitely meet a rice cooker. The Chinese are so fond of this device that they take it with them, even when they go abroad, for example, to study.
5. A water heater is not a luxury, but a necessity.
China does not have a central heating system, so if you want hot water at home, you will have to buy a water heater.
6. Your home is not your property.
In China, you are unlikely to be able to transfer an apartment to your children, not to mention grandchildren. By law, all property there belongs to the state, and citizens can only own housing for 70 years. What will happen after this period (this rule was established less than 70 years ago) is still unknown, but by this time there will be nothing left of the house itself.
