1915-1987 years: competitions in speed eating of food

Categories: Food and Drinks | Sport |

In some countries food fast eating is considered as sport. During competitions, the participants compete with each other in the consumption of more food in the allotted time — usually no more than 15 minutes.

In the United States this type of contest is known since quite a long time, being one of the traditional entertainments at country fairs. Some organizers of these competitions are set for the winners of the cash prizes, the size of which can reach 10 thousand dollars.

Even in the world there are several organizations, positioning itself as a Federation of professional speed eating food — for example, the IFOCE (international Federation of speed eating) and All Pro Eating.
