Dr. Venkatesh Raju, who took part in the operation, says: "In 25 years of practice, I have never seen such a big child. She's a miracle. I think she is the heaviest newborn not only in India, but also in the world."

The girl's mother weighs 94 kg with a height of 175.2 cm. The pregnancy proceeded normally, but Nandini did not know that she would have such a big girl. The size of the baby indicated a high blood sugar level, but doctors made sure that the newborn does not suffer from diabetes, which usually causes obesity in children.

Now the girl is in the intensive care unit, and doctors are monitoring her development before she is discharged home. Dr Purnima Manu, a gynaecologist who delivered the baby, said: "She came as a huge surprise to us. The operation took about half an hour and was not accompanied by any complications. The girl is really big and beautiful."

"She has no health problems like thyroid disorders, and she breathes normally. At first we were worried about the blood sugar level, but it turned out to be normal. The mother was regularly checked at the clinic, and she never showed signs of gestational diabetes or thyroid dysfunction. Both the mother and the child are doing well, and we will discharge them as soon as we are finally convinced that the child is healthy."
