She was fascinated by the life of local street vendors in the capital Hanoi. But the problem was that Loes could not find a good angle to portray the heroes of her works as she saw them - bright images in constant motion. To her surprise, the solution to the problem was waiting for her on one of the many bridges of the city.
Loes rose to a sufficient height to capture the work and life of hundreds of immigrant workers, most of whom are women. They get up at 4 o'clock every morning and ride many kilometers on bicycles, selling fruits, vegetables and flowers.
