A few months ago, a 33-year-old video blogger Ben Taylor from Salt Lake City wrote on Facebook a guy from Liberia named Joel. He tearfully begged Ben to help financially. The blogger immediately realized that he was dealing with a fraudster, but decided to answer him. Joel asked to send him expensive equipment to sell on the market, and share the proceeds with Ben.

Ben replied that he could not send the equipment, but offered the fraudster a deal. The blogger said that he is engaged in photography, and asked Joel to send him photos from Liberia. If they are worthwhile, then the guy will get a reward for them. Joel agreed, sent photos, but they were of terrible quality.

Then Ben decided to invest in this guy and sent him a camera for $30. The photos still left much to be desired. Ben asked Joel to try a little more. And he did it.

The photos turned out to be so amazing that Ben released a photo album with the best pictures and founded a crowdfunding campaign to pay for Joel's work. As a result, about 2,500 albums were sold. Part of the proceeds went to the publication and to Joel's family, and Joel asked to spend part of the money to buy school supplies for poor Liberian children.
