When American photographer David Williams started to make pictures of men with their Pets cats, he could not have imagined that the series will gain such popularity. Now a few dozen photos and stories about men who loves cats, has turned into a book and a separate blog on Tumblr.
"I started to make a series of "Men with cats" in 2009 in Colorado. The first character was a colleague of mine from groceries. He wore a long beard, listening to heavy rock and adored her cat. Then I began to look more and more real men, which is difficult to suspect in the love cats".
His book David wants to inspire people to treat the cats carefully — take them from shelters to help stray animals. He aims to change the perception of people. "I hope the photos and stories from the book will help people to get rid of gender stereotypes," says Williams.
Gender and two of his six cats Cuauhtemoc and MATEO
"Cats is a real Zen. Live in Mexico city and share this city with more than 20 million inhabitants, is quite tedious. The best part of my day is coming home. I close the door and I know that my six cats waiting for me. Perfectly relaxing."

"Actually I'm not a cat person. For me, the life of any animal is important, I have had other Pets. However my cats mean a lot to me, I found love."
Ian and Mowgli
"I talk to my cats and they answer me. I tell stories about how they spend their days collecting cat FORTS, and on the holidays, even decorating them."
Jim with BEA and Arthur
"Arthur is a girl, but we didn't know when he took the cat itself. Then we were told by the vet. But we decided to grow her cat, because by the time painted the room in a blue color and painted on the walls of the machine. Just kidding, of course, but the collar we bought her the blue. And by cats seem to not care about gender".
Simon and Diablo
"I decided to be a cat person because most of the day I'm at work and when you come back home tired like Diablo animates me your energy."
Brent and Sammi
"Most people living in the mountains, give birth to dogs. It's a mentality of "mountain man", probably. And I just always loved cats. With them I grew up."
John and Yuki
"Cats can be very demanding. If she wants to eat or some kind of treat, she is relentless until I get her. As a rule, most of all she want my knees and my attention. If the knees out of reach, she lays down on the table before me. It's a small price for the endless love and friendship."
Alex and Freya
"Now, when my wife and two small children, has become more difficult to pay our "firstborn" the Frey as much love as before. Every night, once the kids finally go to sleep, we naturally want to rest. However, at this moment, Freya never misses an opportunity to demand affection. Usually she wins".
Matt and Filet-o-fish
"I was driving through NJ with my friend and we stopped at McDonald's. When we returned to the car, I heard meowing from a dumpster and went to check what it is. Don't know left her there on purpose or she's just lost, but in the end the cat went to my house. She was so sweet and like thanked me for what I saved her. By the way, while we were driving home, she was eating my "Fillet-Oh-fish"".
David and Cocoa
"After we took the cat from the shelter, we are a few days pondering over the name. In the end, my girlfriend asked "Cocoa", and I was in awe of him."
Amani and Pozza
