By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/stop-prejudice-and-stereotypes.htmlVery often, we make unfair assessments and jump to conclusions about people based on their appearance, ethnicity, nationality, gender, and even age, but we do not like it when we are evaluated in this way.
The American photographer Joel Pares decided to fight against prejudices and stereotypes, who created an amazing series of photos called "Judging America". Stop prejudice and stereotypes-this is the message of Joel's work. So let's fight them all together.
In each photo on the left, you will see a stereotypical image of people belonging to a certain group, and on the right — a specific person who falls under the stereotype, but has nothing to do with it. These pictures show how easy it is to succumb to an established negative judgment, and at the same time, how easy it is to become a victim of prejudice yourself.
Not every former soldier or war veteran is homeless. Pictured: Jacob Williams, a veteran of the Iraq War.
According to the author of the project, he wanted to open the eyes of the world and show how unfair and deceptive stereotypes can be. And although the photographer only took a series of 10 pictures, there are so many different prejudices among us that it could be continued indefinitely.
Not every Muslim (Muslim woman) is a terrorist. Pictured: Sahar Shalim is a nurse from New York.
Everyone should have a chance at a normal life without negative judgments and labeling. In a word, it is impossible to row all under one comb. Good, successful, smart, talented and simply wonderful people come from all nationalities, races, faiths, etc.
Not every white Southerner is a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Pictured: Jack Johnson is a pastor and missionary.
Not every Asian is a member of the Yakuza crime group. In the photo: the world-famous artist Alexander Hafman.
Not every African-American is a thug and a gangster. Pictured: Jefferson Moon is a Harvard graduate.
Not every Latin American is an illegal immigrant who does only physical work. Photo: Edgar Gonzales-CEO of one of the 500 richest companies in the United States according to Fortune magazine.
Not every Asian woman is a masseuse or a manicurist. Photo: Sammy Lee is a graduate of Stanford University.
Not every " hot " beauty works in the sex industry. Pictured: Jane Nguyen is a widow and mother of three.
Not everyone who is dressed or looks like a gay person in your opinion is. Pictured: Ben Alvarez is the founder of the family outreach program.
Not everyone who looks like a "nerd" is an outsider and a loser. In the photo: Joseph Messer-the author of applications for the iPhone worth millions of dollars.
