Neo and Trinity are back: Work on "Matrix 4" has officially begun

Warner Bros. studio has officially confirmed the start of preparations for the filming of the fourth part of the legendary Matrix series. Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss will return to the roles of Neo and Trinity.

This picture will be the fourth part of the action movie beloved by millions of viewers of the planet, which first appeared on screens in 1999.

Back in the spring of 2019, the creator of the film "John Wick-3", director and stuntman Chad Stahelski, told reporters that the Wachowski sisters had already begun the preparatory stage of filming the new "Matrix".

It is still difficult to guess whether the new film will be a continuation of the first three parts or a complete reboot. In his interview with Yahoo Movies, Stahelski said that he likes the idea of Wachowski not only to release a new part of the film, but also to significantly expand the universe of the Matrix.

The director of the fourth "Matrix" will be Lana Wachowski (without the participation of Lilly's sister). Plot details were not disclosed.

In the trilogy, Chad Stahelski played the role of Keanu Reeves' understudy, performing the most dangerous tricks. To date, he has no information about what concept the new picture will have. But Stahelski is sure that the film is guaranteed success and that he is ready to give up everything and rush to help work on it at the first call.

The last currently third part of The Matrix was released in 2003. The finale of the picture was open, which makes it possible to shoot a sequel.

It became known for sure that Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann-Moss will return to their legendary roles — Neo and Trinity. But the participation in the picture of the character Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) has not yet been confirmed. Filming will start in early 2020.
