Masks made of scrap metal
Categories: Design and Architecture
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/masks-made-of-scrap-metal.htmlArtist Dale Dunning from Ontario combines typography and sculpture, creating his exquisite bronze and aluminum sculptures. He makes masks. But these are not ordinary masks – they are created from metal parts welded together.
These metal masks are made from hundreds of printing templates. The letters decorating each mask serve as a kind of symbol of knowledge and connections. The sculptures of the master have different textures – they can be masks made of scrap metal or bolts, nuts and other metal "trifles"welded together.
Dunning pays all his attention to the head, without being distracted by the limbs and body. After all, the head is a symbol of knowledge.
"We live in our heads, we look, feel and feel the world around us in our heads," says Dale.
"For me, the head is the basis on which I can build different ways to explore this world."
