It was built to replace the old one, which was damaged by falling stones.
Europabruecke connects the mountain villages of Zermatt and Grahen. Its length is 494 meters, height is 85 meters.

During the official opening of the bridge, five daredevils walked along it.
The bridge is narrow enough — only 60 cm, so it's better to walk carefully and one after the other.
The bridge is supported by ropes with a total weight of about 8 tons and is equipped with an anti-rocking system.
Below it stretches the Grabengufer Gorge, which lies at the foot of Switzerland's highest mountain — Dom (4545 meters above sea level).
