New York photographer Substancia Jones wants to change the perception of beauty standards and love. For this purpose she thought of the Adipositivity project, which included photos of naked couples. On pictures especially nothing is hidden in order to prove that all people are worthy of love, and full including. These pairs are special because they do not fit the universal standards. The partners in these pairs belong to different races, weight classes and sexual orientation.
The photographer captured the intimate moments that show the genuine feelings of love and understanding.
The Adipositivity project aims to show that, no matter what, love always wins.
Honest, nothing to hide portraits of people who society generally doesn't understand.
The photographer herself says: "I do this for each child, which parents say that he will be able to find your soul mate, but if you lose that weight. For every fat person, who is convinced that his relationship is not working because of his racy belly. For every citizen, who, seeing me on a date with a skinny man who thinks I'm his sister."
"Photography is a tool that is used to manipulate people, especially women, to inspire them, if they seem unworthy in his natural body. Society wants women to swallow pills for weight loss of 66 million dollars per year. I want to fix it and using photos to help people accept and love themselves and others".
Substantia Jones says that often models find it yourself. The photographer leaves them to choose the clothes and setting for shooting and the desire to hide his face.
Actually wanting to participate in the project very much. The photographer did not even have time to remove all of it.
"Some people want to show the world that they chose the love of your body. Many people use photography to help yourself to accept your body. There are those who want to send away dominance in the culture of thin people".
"I never understood the popular opinion that fat people choose partners thick, thin, thin. In my project there are many mixed couples. In person you can seek the kindness, delighting in the smile, but appreciate their favorite terms of weight? This criterion is suitable only for a fleeting Hobbies, but not for love".
