Japanese engineer and businessman Kunaiko Saito, founder of Cocoa Motors, has created a working model of the WalkCar personal vehicle. The created device is an analogue of the Segway scooter boards that are gaining popularity. The main difference of the new prototype is that it will be more affordable and very light. Kunaiko Saito promises to put an unusual vehicle into production.

WalkCar weighs only three kilograms. This feature allows you to carry the device, for example, in a laptop bag. At the same time, the scooter can withstand a pilot weighing up to 120 kg. The WalkCar runs on an electric motor and is powered by a lithium-ion battery. The engine is able to accelerate the scooter to 10-12 km / h. The battery, in turn, lasts for 60-90 minutes of driving or 12 km of run.

The WalkCar is controlled in the same way as any other similar mode of transport - by balancing the mass of the pilot. The WalkCar scooter is divided into four zones. For braking, you will have to transfer body weight to the heels. If you jump off your WalkCar while moving, the device will stop almost instantly.

In the fall of 2015, a crowdfunding campaign on KickStarter will begin. The estimated cost of the gadget will be about 800 US dollars. The start of sales of the first batch of devices is scheduled for early 2016.
