Youth captured in hyper-realistic wood sculptures

By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/youth-captured-in-hyper-realistic-wood-sculptures.htmlThe tree seems to come to life under the chisel of the Italian sculptor Bruno Walpoth - his sculptures are so realistic that at first glance it is not entirely clear whether this is a living person or a motionless statue. Bruno carefully works out all the details, and only marks from tools and abrasions on the surface of the wood remind us that these creatures are not real.
The sculptor was born in 1959, lives and works in the Italian city of Bolzano. He makes his life-size sculptures from wood and lead. The master's works are united by the theme of sadness and loneliness. Bruno's models are his own children. The artist manages to perpetuate fleeting youth in his works.
