You didn't sleep here: a girl makes fun of the places of extreme sleepovers on Instagram

Categories: Positive | Social Networks | Travel

In social networks, such a trend is persistently developing — you need to create an outrageously perfect scene for a photo, even if it does not resemble real life at all. Most often, these are food photos and "random" portraits on Instagram. However, now the trend has seeped into pictures in nature or on the street in general. Travel photographers post their overnight locations on cliffs or along the rocky mountains to demonstrate an incredible taste for adventure. And they look so extreme that it is hard to believe in their veracity.

And as usual, if something is hard to believe, then most likely it is not true. That's why Luisa Jeffery makes fun of such campsites on her Instagram account @youdidnotsleepthere (translated as "you didn't sleep there").

The idea is simple: Jeffrey finds a photo on Instagram with a magnificent view and a ridiculously absurd place for a traveler to spend the night and publishes it on his account, making it clear that the frame was made for show.

This idea came to her after she and a friend rafted on the river and he offered to put up a tent just for the sake of taking a photo.

"When I got home, I started noticing how absurd some of the photos were."

Since the summer of 2015, Louise Jeffrey has been posting photos that she calls "cliches".

The most terrible crime in her eyes — sticking out of the tent bare legs or burning a lantern in a tent under the night sky, illuminated by billions of stars.

Again, Jeffrey doesn't claim that there aren't any people in the world who would sleep in such crazy beautiful and dangerous places.

"My account is not dedicated to finding truth or untruth. It's more about making fun of cliches so that people just smile more often. I never took it seriously."
