Everyone has heard about "iron gloves" — this pedagogical term is familiar to us since childhood. And what is known about hedgehog bras? It turns out there are some. Visitors of the St. Petersburg Museum of Modern Art "Erarta" were able to see rare underwear with their own eyes? Then they expressed their indignation because of the cruelty of its creator.

An unexpected scandal broke out during the exhibition with the peaceful title "WOW-Fashion!", which took place in the premises of the Erarta Museum of Modern Art in St. Petersburg.

Actually, an unhealthy hype arose around just one exhibit that won the World of WearableArt (WOW) international design competition. The controversial subject was a women's bra from Claire Ted, a taxidermist and designer from the Netherlands.

The product is a women's bra made of hedgehog skins and decorated with precious stones. Visitors to the exhibition were sincerely outraged by the unusual thing and soon a serious controversy began on the web around the exhibit.

Even statesmen spoke in defense of defenseless hedgehogs — State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov, known for his active lifestyle, said that Erarta should be punished for this egregious case.

The official believes that such "crafts" are only evil and provoke a cruel attitude towards these useful and cute animals. Milonov, by the way, knows firsthand about prickly animals — the South African hedgehog Diana lives at the senator's house.

The Greens also joined the discussion of the case. Anastasia Dyakova, project coordinator of the public organization "Voices for Animals", demanded an investigation to find out what kind of death the animals died and whether there is a precedent in this situation for mistreatment of our smaller brothers. The activist believes that using hedgehog skins for decoration is no better than the fur of cats and dogs.

Erarta immediately rejected the accusations of the Dutch taxidermist's bloodlust, saying that the hedgehogs fell into his hands already dead, as they were hit by a car. Moreover, it was the tragic death of a hedgehog couple that prompted the author to create a bra, which is a kind of tribute to the animals that died due to human fault.

Ekaterina Atoyan-Milyukova, the museum's director of external relations, also did not fail to tease Mr. Milonov. In her opinion, if the deputy had found time to visit the exhibition, rather than drawing information from rumors in social networks, he would have been able to verify the origin of the exhibit himself by reading the explanatory plaque.
