Why it is harmful to stick to the phone after waking up and how to overcome this habit

PictolicAccording to statistics, many smartphone owners pick up their gadgets as soon as the alarm sounds. Lying in bed, they browse the news and social networks, check the mail and even watch videos on tiktok. There are 61 percent of such people, and half an hour after waking up, they already become 88 percent. Doctors believe that this is harmful, and they advise you to immediately abandon such a habit.
With the fact that falling asleep with a smartphone is very harmful, many agree. But the opinion about awakening with a gadget is not so unambiguous. Many people believe that checking email and news in the morning will help them wake up faster and start the day productively. But in reality, all is not as well as it seems.
Many people notice that already by breakfast they feel overwhelmed, as if they had not rested. Few associate this condition with surfing the net right after waking up. But scientists have already figured out how it works. Immersed in the news or social networks immediately after sleep, a person quickly switches from rest to wakefulness. This contributes to stress and makes it difficult to effectively prioritize throughout the day.
If you notice that you do not have time to complete the tasks scheduled for the day, you should give up the morning immersion in the Internet. Tristan Harris, a former design ethicist at Google and co-founder of the Center for Human Technology, says that when we start the morning on our phone, we are reminded of the tasks we didn't complete yesterday. This reduces productivity during the current day. In addition, such an action, repeated every morning, is a reason to talk about the appearance of addiction.
To be more balanced and productive during the day, you need to give up your smartphone in the first hour after waking up. It is not difficult to make the task easier - stop setting the wake-up time on your gadget, and buy a regular alarm clock. Then there will be no temptation, barely opening your eyes, to take on a smartphone. Even better, if the device will be away from you in another room.
Doctors do not recommend taking the phone in hand during breakfast. They believe that this leads to overeating. It is best to start reading the news and browsing social media posts after eating. And immediately after sleep, you need to devote 10-15 minutes to physical exercises or yoga. This will give you a boost of energy for the whole day.
