There have always been connoisseurs of hygiene, but recently cleanliness has been raised to a real cult. The pandemic also played a role in this, forcing the whole world to put on gloves and arm themselves with sanitizers.
Experts believe that the klinkor style is still very young. In their opinion, it was born under the influence of the Thai visual artist Korakrit Arunanondchai and his exhibition "Chantry Letters", held in 2016.
The artist presented an installation of two dozen plastic mannequins dressed in snow-white hospital gowns. These figures embodied absolute purity and sterility.
With the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the barely nascent klinkor received a powerful boost. Thousands of people began to join the movement, inspired by the cleanliness associated with safety. Very soon, different directions of this style appeared. High cleancore aestheticizes hygiene products for adults and cleaning, and Low cleancor - baby shampoos, soaps and bath toys.
The aesthetics of cleancore have their own key colors. These are pale blue, light green, as well as mint and turquoise shades. Among the important attributes it is worth noting masks, rubber gloves, medical gowns and overalls. Clincore connoisseurs make special selections of videos and music that convey the "atmosphere of purity" and are inspired by them. Usually these are videos dedicated to cleaning, washing and bathing.
In Russia, klinkor began to be actively distributed in December 2021. The popularity of the style was greatly promoted by a video from tiktok explaining the essence of typical cleancore pictures. Later, the videos began to appear by the hundreds like mushrooms after the rain. Many authors take pictures of how detergents and antiseptics or gels are poured on the glass. Often at the same time they are smeared on a smooth surface.
The uniformity and primitiveness of the klinkor fans' videos cause a lot of jokes on the part of users. The network already has a lot of videos criticizing and ridiculing soap aesthetes. Haters believe that the romanticization of soap and dishwashing detergents is abnormal and psychologically mature individuals will not do this.
Trolling of clinkworkers has reached the point that their opponents have decided to create their own aesthetics. Of course, she is diametrically opposed and praises dirt. The style even got a name - dirtcore. Videos of "dirty" are already competing in popularity with hardcore plots. This is not surprising, because they are funnier and almost always more original.
Jokes are jokes, but it seems to us that there is nothing wrong with clincore. After all, it is known that cleanliness is the key to health, so why not sing it?
