If a person is unpleasant, then it would be logical to unsubscribe from him and not visit his page. But when it comes to hate-following, everything works exactly the opposite. The hater closely monitors the object of his hatred, while powerfully emoting and wasting a lot of energy and time. There can be many reasons for such irrational behavior. And, as a rule, it’s not about the object of observation, but about who is watching him.

A person needs emotions. If life is boring and monotonous, then there is not much difference whether they are positive or negative. The absence of emotions torments a person and is perceived by him as something abnormal. In psychology there is a special term for this: “painful feeling of loss of feelings.” Sometimes this condition is also called "mournful insensibility."

Many are sure that a person strives for positive emotions. But it is not always the case. People generally need experiences, of course, preferably pleasant ones, but in their absence, negative ones will do. It's better than nothing at all. Therefore, the search for thrills begins, and it often brings pleasure. This is why people ride roller coasters and base jump. Technically, fear is unpleasant, but it is an emotion that is in short supply.

Hate-following is based on this. Ideally, everyone wants to experience inspiration, delight, and joy. But in real life, these feelings are not easy to get. But indignation, rage, indignation are always available. And these are usually strong emotions that captivate you completely and for a long time. What does observing unpleasant personalities give a person? How do emotions arise in this case?

Subconsciously we feel that something that irritates us or poses a threat. And it is better not to leave the source of danger unattended. By following someone unpleasant on social networks, people create the illusion that the situation is under control. The Internet is a place where you can pour out any emotions without fear of getting a response. All that threatens the author of unpleasant comments is a ban. Therefore, many people who are unable to cope with anger in everyday life let off steam on social networks.

There is another interesting point. Users, and especially bloggers, publish posts about what bothers them. Or express their point of view. But if it does not coincide with the opinion of the hater, he immediately takes a hunting stance. Like, someone puts pineapple on pizza! But I don’t do that, so it’s wrong!

It turns out that this smart guy believes that he is right and dares to tell everyone about it? We need to put him in his place, prove that he doesn’t understand anything about this. The person may leave angry comments or even mentally argue with the opponent. He has one task - to convince himself that he is right.

A surefire way to feel superior to others is to find someone online with a different point of view on an issue and attack them. The easiest option is to go to the blogger’s page and start looking for grammatical or stylistic errors in his posts. It is imperative that everyone is notified about them so that they know that the hater is smarter and more competent.

Often real battles begin in the comments. They evoke strong emotions and a sense of significance. The aggressor fights for the truth, repels the attacks of enemies and controls public opinion. In addition, the righteous anger that arises in such cases is pleasant in itself.

Haters usually have enough problems of their own. But online battles help them take their mind off them and forget about their troubles for a while. For some, this is the same habitual way to kill time as for others, continuous scrolling of the news feed or viewing endless photos with cats.

Many people believe that hate-following is not the most pleasant, but quite harmless activity. But this is a mistaken opinion. It is not safe to follow those who are annoying, much less argue with them. If a person follows people he dislikes on social networks, then he experiences envy, resentment, and sadness. He “gives” himself these emotions, and this is unpleasant.
