Social networks have become so firmly entrenched in our lives that many simply cannot imagine a day without scrolling through the treasured feed. Instagram is the leader in this regard. Every day, millions of people post their photos there to tell and show the world what they consider important and significant. According to these posts, it is quite possible to draw up a psychological portrait of a person, understand his interests and even identify problems. Therefore, psychologists advise sometimes to analyze your own tape - it is quite possible that you will learn a lot of unexpected and interesting things about yourself.

People who often show off their athletic and toned body online are likely to have put in a lot of effort to achieve this. Through such photos, they are looking for recognition of their own willpower and, perhaps, they are trying to assert themselves through likes and approval. However, psychologists say that this can be a wake-up call: a person is not confident in himself and seeks to "fix" the achievement in public. Also, the abundance of "bodily" photographs can speak of self-esteem problems, when a person believes that he has nothing to show to this world besides his body.

Photos of food and with food are very common in people who grew up in low-income families as children. We are not talking about hunger, just the child did not have the opportunity to eat what he wants and as much as he wants. Therefore, now he is demonstrating his own well-being in every possible way, because there is plenty - this is the first basic human need. However, psychologists also say that photos with food can be a sign of a hidden eating disorder: a person either puts the pleasure of food in the forefront, or, conversely, is embarrassed by his passion for food and wants to justify himself through likes.

The abundance of photos with a pet speaks of the hidden loneliness of a person. It is obvious that his whole life is concentrated in a cat, dog or parrot. The more such photos in the tape, the more a person needs to be taken care of. On a subconscious level, he wants someone to appear in his life who will treat him the same way he treats his pet. If a couple constantly posts a photo of a pet, this indicates a psychological readiness to have a baby. However, in the same way, it can talk about the burnout of relationships, when there are no interests left between partners, except for a pet.

If a person's profile is full of photos from constant parties, this can also indicate loneliness. That's just this loneliness of a different plan, which is dictated by inner emptiness and inability to listen to oneself. Such people are afraid to be alone with themselves and strive to fill all their free time with friends and noisy pastimes. Psychologists say that cheerful photos in a noisy company may hide a tendency to depression and low self-esteem.

Psychologists have done a lot of research on this. They randomly selected 172 couples, analyzed more than 3,000 of their Instagram posts, and then anonymously asked each of the partners about the seriousness of their relationship. Based on this, scientists traced a clear relationship between the quality of relationships and posts on the network.

Couples in which both partners are happy with each other often post joint photos, and also regularly tag each other on their photos. In addition, each of the couple regularly likes and leaves comments under the partner's posts.

But in those cases when at least one of the partners doubts the relationship or thinks that it is time to end it, joint photos appear on the network much less often, or they do not exist at all. At the same time, one of the partners can actively comment on the posts of the other, and mark him on his page. But from the side of the second partner, instead of activity, there will be almost complete silence.
