The farm is owned by the GreenWood Tree Farm Fund, and managed by a team of loggers from Portland. The forest farm is located on an area of 10,117 hectares and consists of thousands and thousands of hybrid poplars.
The trees here grow neatly in even rows at the same distance from each other. They are all about the same size, height and thickness. As a result, the forest farm, striking in its symmetry and order, has become a real attraction that tourists regularly visit.

1. This forest farm is just one of the many enterprises of the company "GreenWood Resources", which operates in the Americas, as well as China.
2. However, it is one of the most easily accessible, considering that it is located next to a major highway.
3. The farm is divided into plots of 16 and 28 hectares, between which smooth roads are laid. About 600 trees were planted on each segment of 4 thousand sq.m.
4. Nine pumps of 1000 hp are used for irrigation on the farm. They take water from the Columbia River at a rate of up to 442,989 liters per minute. In fact, it is the largest irrigation system in the United States, whose irrigation pipeline stretches for more than 14,484 km.
5. The computer monitors all this. Everything here is organized so that each tree receives exactly the amount of water that it needs for growth. At the same time, the trees here grow at an incredible speed, without loss of water and unnecessary costs.
6. The use of chemicals is limited, because special systems of integrated insect control are used.
7. Sawdust and waste from felling go back into the soil, which limits the need to use chemical fertilizers.
8. A type of tree called Pacific Albus is grown on this forest farm. This is a patented name that can be translated as the white Pacific tree.
9. It is a hybrid of 4-5 different types of poplars, which grows faster and smoother than other trees, uses less water and is least expensive.
10. It takes only 10-12 years for trees to reach maturity, after which they are cut down and sent to sawmills, where boards and shavings are made from them. Shavings are used in the production of paper, and older and taller trees are felled for lumber.
11. Any parts of trees that cannot be made into boards are turned into wood pulp or wood chips. Even sawdust from sawmills is pressed into bricks for fireplaces and stoves.
12. The felling of trees is entrusted to various independent companies.
13. Joe Nash, who is responsible for felling and assembling trees, says that on a typical day they load up to 25 saw logs plus about 25 more logs going for pruning.
14. As a result, they get about 65 logs, which they deliver to the sawmill.
15. The sawmill of GreenWood Resources is located in the center of the forest farm and processes material from 809 hectares of land every year.
16. Then the recycled materials are sold to a variety of countries. The largest buyers are China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Mexico.
