Unusual festival - in hammocks over the abyss

Categories: Holidays and Festivals

What do you imagine when you hear the word "festival"? A bunch of people, a lot of booze and, of course, loud music? Stage with musicians and tents? A parade in the city center and other paraphernalia of a "regular" festival? Well, the International Rope Festival will surprise you, because this is the most unusual and probably the scariest festival in the world. The fact is that visitors to this event spend all their time ... suspended over an abyss in the Italian Alps!

Participants of the festival call themselves "rope walkers". The rope on which they are suspended differs from the usual one (used by tightrope walkers) in that it has a flatter shape and sags a little. Apart from the fact that the guests spend all day (and all night) in limbo a few hundred meters from the ground, this event has all the attributes of a "normal" festival - a kitchen, a bar and, of course, musical performances. Participants can also attend a yoga class or paragliding.
