After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, a large part of art in public space was lost. In socialist countries, the dominant art style was socialist realism, glorifying the proletariat and civil victories. Particularly popular mosaic: bright murals, characters who become politicians, workers, pioneers, scientists and astronauts, was decorated with plants, schools, metro and bus stations.
