Inside the special vehicles were the bodies of dozens of people. Moreover, in one of the cars, the freezers stopped working, and the corpses began to decompose.
The city authorities have already given an explanation for everything that is happening. It turns out that the morgue has run out of places…

As you know, New York has now become one of the main hotbeds of the spread of coronavirus in the country. More than 299 thousand cases of infection have already been detected in the city, more than 1 million in the country, and the number of cases is growing regularly. And with it, the death rate.

In this regard, there is simply not enough space in local morgues to store corpses. According to journalists, the city authorities solved this situation as follows: special trucks equipped with a cooling system were equipped for temporary storage of bodies. It was these cars that Brooklyn residents found near the funeral home. People heard an unpleasant smell coming from them.

It turned out that a freezer had failed in one of the cars, so the bodies were stored without cooling. It is not known whether there were victims of the coronavirus among them.
Dmitry Lisovetsky, co-owner of one of the funeral homes of the metropolis, admitted that the coronavirus epidemic has become a real test of strength not only for the healthcare system, but also for the funeral services of the city. According to him, because of the deaths that have overwhelmed the city, queues for cremation can now be waited for months, and coffins have become a scarce commodity.

Although now there is a situation with a decrease in the number of coronavirus victims in New York, the US Federal Emergency Management Agency has formed an order for the purchase of 100 thousand bags for human remains. So the authorities are preparing for the "worst" scenario, according to the Wall Street Journal.
