3. The world first learned about Gabby two years ago, when her family began to travel the world, trying to find out at least something about the causes of the child's illness. Since then, two new cases have been reported of the disease, which is so rare that doctors have not come up with an official name for it.

8. Those suffering from this disease, which is similar to the one Brad Pitt's character suffered from in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, grow as much in just four years as a normal child grows in a year. While the chromosomes in all patients are intact, each of them has various cognitive impairments, such as blindness, or the inability to walk and eat on their own.

In 2011, Dr. Richard Walker of the University of South Florida College of Medicine theorized that the bodies of people suffering from this rare disease develop as independent parts, not as a whole.
