Despite the active search, it is still unknown what happened and where the plane is. The official version of events is that the plane crashed into the Indian Ocean, and all the passengers on board were killed. However, the crash site has not been found after extensive searches. Therefore, the relatives of the missing still live in a state of uncertainty: they do not know what happened, they cannot bury and mourn their relatives and cannot start living on. They live in constant expectation. Reuters photographer Kim Kyung-hoon managed to talk and capture the anguish, sadness and suffering of the loved ones of the missing passengers of the Malaysian Boeing in photographs.

"Public interest in this disaster is falling. Therefore, I decided to show what the family members of the missing passengers have to go through and remind them of the mysterious disaster," writes photojournalist Kim Kyung-Hoon.
The photographer admitted that at first he was afraid of the reaction of the relatives of the missing passengers. But as it turned out, these people had a huge need to speak out, to share with all their suffering and longing. The common tragedy brought these people closer together, and each of them introduced the photographer to other families. They trusted the photographer, and they did not need to be persuaded to stand in front of the camera lens, although some refused to show their faces.

"I tried to be very careful not to hurt their feelings and not to violate their privacy during filming," Kim Kyung-Hoon writes. The photographer emphasizes that he never started a meeting with filming, he waited until his interlocutors got used to him. He always asked them before he started taking pictures, and then continued to listen to their stories. "Sometimes I cried," the photographer confessed.
