1. Singapore Flyer, height 165 meters.
Located on the coast of Marina Bay, Singapore. Opened in 2008 and to this day is the highest wheel in the world. Although at least two projects have already been announced that exceed it in height - in New York and Dubai.
2. Star of Nanchang, height 160 meters.
Located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, China. From its opening in 2006 until 2008, it was considered the highest in the world.
3. London Eye, height 135 meters.
The only European on this list is from South Bank, London. It was opened in 2000 and remained the highest in the world until 2006.
4. Suzhou Ferris Wheel, height 120 meters.
This is the newest wheel on our list. Opened in 2009 in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China.
5. Melbourne Star (or Southern Star), height 120 meters.
A rare member of the list outside of Asia is located in Melbourne, Australia. It was opened in December 2008, but after only 40 days they were forced to close for repairs. The reconstruction of the wheel began in 2011 and has not yet been completed.
6. Tianjin Eye, 120 meters high.
Located over the Yongle Bridge over the Hai River in Tianjin, China. Opened in 2008. It is the largest wheel in the world built over a bridge.
7. Changsha Ferris Wheel, height 120 meters.
Located in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. Opened in 2004.
8. Zhengzhou Ferris Wheel, 120 meters high.
Opened in 2003 at Century Amusement Park, Henan Province, China.
9. Sky Dream Fukuoka, height 120 meters.
Worked in Fukuoka, Japan since 2002. Closed and partially dismantled in September 2009.
10. Diamond and Flower Ferris Wheel, height 117 meters.
Opened at Kasai Rinkai Park, Tokyo, Japan in 2001. After the closure of the wheel in Fukuoka remains the largest in Japan.
