The loss of a leg helped the former soldier to find himself

It often happens that a person has both hands and feet in place, but he cannot find his place in life. 38-year-old veteran James Ramsey from the USA lost his leg, but found a business that brings him joy and a good income. Of course, he is not happy that he has to walk on a prosthesis, but he admits that if it were not for an accident, it is unlikely that he would have been successful.

Former military man James Ramsey spent more than one year serving in the US army and visited many "hot spots" of the planet, including Iraq and Afghanistan. Fortune protected the soldier and he escaped injury on the battlefields. As a sergeant, James returned to his hometown of Estacada, Oregon and prepared to live in peace and comfort as an ordinary American.

But fate, which protected the warrior when performing combat missions, played a cruel joke on him. The day after returning home, Ramsey decided to take a bike ride through the streets of his hometown and unsuccessfully fell off a two-wheeled friend. When the veteran fell, he lost consciousness, and when he woke up in the hospital, he realized that he would have to do without his right leg for the rest of his life.

The limb was so badly damaged that doctors had no choice but to amputate it. Perhaps someone in the place of Sergeant Ramsey would have fallen into despair, but the seasoned soldier quickly pulled himself together and, barely recovering from a serious operation, began a completely new life.

First of all, James acquired a modern prosthesis that allowed him to move relatively freely. After that, he bought a gym membership and started seriously building his body.

In addition, Ramsey put himself in the hands of experienced tattooists, who covered almost his entire body, except for his face and palms, with colored tattoos. Before serving in the army, James had filled several drawings on the body, but this was childish babble compared to how it was decorated after the injury.

A couple of years later, the attention of the photo studio was drawn to the pumped-up brutal handsome man covered with tattoos. Ramsey began to be invited as a tattoo model for photo shoots and at the same time paid well. The veteran participated in advertising campaigns for various products, photographed for magazines, and also participated in filming with other people with special needs.

James Ramsey has an Instagram account, where 113 thousand subscribers follow his life and work. The profession of a model is not the only occupation of a former military man. In his spare time from filming, Ramsey works as a coach at the sports company SOFLETE, which helps combat veterans find themselves in a peaceful life.

Handsome Ramsey is not married yet, but he has a girlfriend — Heidi Lavon. She works as a stylist and sometimes takes part in photo shoots with James. The couple is united by many interests, one of which is tattoos. There are a lot of them on Lavon's body, although her beloved is still very far away.

Ramsey does not hide that the absence of a limb is not a very pleasant phenomenon, but at the same time he boldly looks to the future and enjoys life. He is sure that if he had two legs, he would hardly have started doing what he is passionate about today and the quality of his life would be much worse.

There are many examples when even such a serious injury as the loss of a limb is not able to break a person and prevent him from doing what he loves.
