The expert told why it is necessary to turn off Bluetooth on mobile devices

It's hard to argue with the fact that Bluetooth is a wonderful invention of the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, because it makes life much easier for owners of mobile gadgets. If earlier we used this communication protocol to transfer information from phone to phone, now it connects most wireless accessories and peripheral devices to smartphones, tablets and laptops. Many of us are not used to disabling the Bluetooth function, but experts in the field of information security believe that in vain.

The expert told why it is necessary to turn off Bluetooth on mobile devices

Alexander Timofeev, Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told reporters about the risks associated with constantly turning on Bluetooth. According to the expert, the main danger of wireless communication is not in radiation, the effect of which on the body has not been proven, but in the possibility of data theft from the device by intruders.

Alexander Timofeev claims that many underestimate cybercriminals, whose level is very high today. The expert is sure that it is not difficult for an experienced hacker to hack a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth using special equipment.

In this case, an attacker can gain access not only to files stored in the device's memory, but also to usernames, passwords, bank card data, and even to user information in cloud storage located on remote servers.

To prevent this from happening, Timofeev recommends turning on the wireless connection only if you are going to use it and when you no longer need it, turn it off immediately. If you develop such a habit, you can not worry about data security.

As for the radiation, Alexander Timofeev said that they can pose a danger only if there are many of them concentrated in one place. Therefore, the scientist advises not to store smartphones nearby, so that their radiation does not add up. The expert also warned against storing bank cards next to phones – radio frequency radiation significantly reduces their service life.

In the USA, scientists have tested the effect of 4G and 5G radiation on aquarium fish and their eggs. The result of the experiment disappointed the supporters of the popular theory of "deadly radiation" today.
