Kelly didn't want to get a dog then, but..."He came in, and I thought, "Yes. I'm taking this puppy home," Kelly recalls.

As time went on, Kelly met James Garvin, and they fell in love. Kelly and James, both veterinarians, got married in September this year and really wanted 15-year-old Charlie to be at the wedding. Unfortunately, this year the dog was found to have a brain tumor, and he was very weak. A week before the wedding, he lost consciousness five times, and Kelly was preparing for his euthanasia.

However, during the wedding week, Charlie did not have a single attack. According to Kelly, he was unrecognizable. And you know what? He walked with the hostess to the altar!

But he couldn't go back... Sister Kelly picked him up and carried him. It was such a touching moment that everyone burst into tears.

"James and I just grabbed him and kept repeating: "You did it, buddy, you did it," Kelly says.

About a week later, on September 9, Charlie was euthanized. He quietly fell asleep in front of the fireplace at home, in the circle of a loving family, so as not to wake up again. "It's been a phenomenal 15 years. That's for sure," says Kelly.
