The difficult process of giving birth to a new life
Categories: Photo project
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-difficult-process-of-giving-birth-to-a-new-life.htmlThis photo project was born out of a natural feeling of curiosity towards the beauty of women in labor. The images were taken in different regions of Canada and provide documentation of home and hospital births. Some of the women in these photos were delivered by midwives, some by professional midwives and doctors, some by both. Work on the project is still ongoing, and it is not limited to one geographic location.
The author of the project is Jenna Schuldis from Toronto. After graduating in psychology, she went back to study, this time at a photography school in western Canada. On the third day of her stay at school, she met a handsome young man who later became her husband. Jenna sincerely loves people, but she is especially attracted to aspects related to the feminine. The girl took doula training courses in 2011 and spent a lot of time surrounded by women in labor. Under the gun of her lens, more than one baby was born.
