He wanted to play the janitors who would clean up the snow, but hit a more unusual target — the police.
"I love inventing and designing different things," the 33—year-old engineer and carpenter told BuzzFeed Canada.
"I made this car just to have fun and express my creative ideas on this beautiful day."
It is impossible to park on this road during snow removal, so the "car" attracted the attention of the police.
One of them inspected the snow machine and apparently realized that it was impossible to issue a fine to a snowman.
And yet the police played along with the joker: they left him a note with the words "You made our evening" and a smiley face.
Appearing on Reddit, the photos went viral. Laprais said that he received an incredible amount of attention, and his computer froze from the number of incoming messages. "I wanted to play a prank on the guys who clean up the snow. I didn't expect a fine, and even more so that the photos would become popular."
