The artist turns vintage photographs into mind-blowing illustrations

By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-artist-turns-vintage-photographs-into-mind-blowing-illustrations.htmlThe well—known Romanian photographer Costique Axinte lived and worked in the first half of the XX century - as if only for the Australian artist and photographer Jane Long to take his photographs and make stunning surreal illustrations based on them. We have already written about this project, but recently Jane gave out another portion — and we could not resist the temptation to revisit this topic.
The originals themselves are exceptionally good, and what the artist does with them is just beyond the pale.
This is despite the fact that she herself is more than able to take pictures, as evidenced by her official website and Facebook page.
And yes, if you are going to Australia in August-September, take a look at the Ballarat International Photo Biennale — you can see all these works "live" there.
It remains to add that the original photos are digitized and stored in the Museum of the History of Yalomica — in case you are suddenly going to the southeast of Romania in the foreseeable future.
