After a long search, they found a suitable building in Vancouver, British Columbia, and decided to buy it, and then move it to their city of Courtney, located on an island on the west coast of the country.
An unusual project was carried out on July 23. At 10 a.m., the 1915 building was put on wheels and taken to the port. There he was put on a barge and down the Fraser River, and then taken across the Strait of Georgia to a new location. This eight-hour trip cost only 1,500 Canadian dollars, writes The Vancouver courier.
Similar house moves have been practiced in Canada for quite a long time. Specialized companies, for example, acquire old buildings, repair and sell them, and then transport them to new locations.
