PictolicEveryone knows that the cleanliness of underwear is the basis of personal hygiene. However, even freshly washed underpants can spread harmful bacteria. It's all about the wrong temperature regime. Find out from our material how often and at how many degrees you need to wash clothes and other things.
You can wash your underwear every time after the next wear, but this does not mean that it becomes clean. Many people do everything wrong, so fecal bacteria can be transferred to all other clothes that are dried nearby.
If you turn on the washing machine at less than 40 degrees Celsius, then the particles of urine and feces remain on the underwear. Only washing at 60 degrees and above on a full cycle can kill harmful bacteria. Hygiene experts emphasize that it is impossible to wash underwear together with tablecloths and kitchen towels, so that the infection does not enter the body with food.
In order not to damage delicate lace underwear at high temperatures, you can add a special disinfectant for washing.
There are no clear rules on how often you need to wash things, but you need to do it regularly. For example, doctors say that jeans should be sent to the washing machine after 4-5 socks, and a bra after 2 ‑3. Pajamas should be washed twice a week, because at night we often sweat, creating a favorable environment for bacteria to multiply on it.
Underpants also need to be washed daily, after each sock. The bacteria that remain on them can cause irritations, pimples and fungal infections.
Bed linen should be changed every week, and pillows should be cleaned twice a year. Kitchen towels should be washed at a temperature of at least 60 degrees to protect yourself from food poisoning caused by bacteria. Send bath towels to the washing machine after several uses and be sure to dry well.
In addition, do not forget to wipe your bag and wallet at least once a week, because they also accumulate harmful bacteria. The same applies to a mobile phone – it needs to be cleaned with a soft cloth daily.
