Strong women at a non-feminine job

By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/strong-women-at-a-non-feminine-job.htmlDump truck driver, butcher, fireman — all these are traditionally male professions. Photographer Chris Crisman from Penn Valley, California, has created a photo project that can be called a real ode to strong and brave women who have mastered typically male specialties.
Krisman was always looking for unusual subjects for filming. Accidentally talking to one of the clients, he met Heather Marold Thomason, a butcher and owner of the company Primal Supply Meats from Philadelphia. So his photo project began.
The photographer shoots a lot for pharmaceutical companies and is engaged in his own project in between commercial photo shoots. He managed to work with a pig breeder, a dump truck driver, a taxidermist, a female carpenter and a female firefighter. For many of these professions, there is not even a feminine name in English (not to mention Russian).
The details in the background tell about the main character of the shooting no less than the images of these women themselves.
Krisman hopes that his photo project will influence how girls and women are presented in culture. He noted that in magazines he often sees materials about professions and jobs that appeal to young men, and materials for girls are mainly focused on how to look beautiful.
