Looking at these photos, you realize with sadness that very little has changed in the country since the Soviet Union.
Frank Herfort traveled around the countries for many years, recording the sights he saw on film. But the photographer's latest project is dedicated exclusively to Russia. In these frames you will be able to see entrances in high-rise buildings, metro stations, people and nature, which in the German lens do not look as ordinary as we are used to.
An abandoned farm in the Moscow region.
Elevator in Kirov.
Police officers on therapy in Grozny.
Picnic near power lines in Marino.
Administration of the theater in Kolomenskoye.
A huge stuffed elephant and the director of the Moscow zoo.
The structure of the airport in Moscow, which was converted into a sports complex.
VIP lounge of the train station.
A watermelon merchant.
The facade of the only hotel in Polar.
It seems as if Russia is stuck in the Soviet space.
It is not surprising that Frank Herfort chose this country for the new project, because the man himself was born on the territory of the GDR and had a similar Soviet childhood.
According to a photographer who has traveled all over Russia, "it seems that time has stopped in some parts of the country."
Looking at these photos, you realize that this is really so. In some cities and towns, the Soviet era still reigns here.
